My vision for the
University of Mobile intercollegiate athletic program is that it
remain as one of the best small-college programs in the country.
We will continue this success by retaining the outstanding coaches
that currently serve our program and by maintaining our tradition of
recruiting extraordinary student-athletes.
In order to provide
the best possible facilities and programs for our student-athletes, I
am committed to developing new corporate sponsorships, expanding our
donor base of alumni and friends, building relationships within the
community, increasing the number of memberships in the Ram Club and
supporting the fundraising efforts initiated by each head coach.
I remain committed
to establishing the intercollegiate athletic program as a national
leader in gender equity. In the process of achieving this goal,
we must continue to make assiduous progress with our Five-Year Gender
Equity Plan. We will also investigate the possibility of
adding more women's sports. This can be done only through
appropriate study of facility use, adequate funding and an assessment
of our current staff and its ability to support additional sports.
Lastly, in keeping
with the overall philosophy of the University of Mobile and its
Five-Year Master Plan, I am dedicated to formulating a nationally
recognized program aimed at encouraging the development of character,
faith and ethical leadership of our student-athletes.
