ORANGE BEACH, Ala. -- Senior Meredith Tanner belted a homerun over the left field fence in the top of the fourth inning to give Mobile their only run of the game as the 4 th-ranked Rams defeated University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma 1-0 in the first round of Gold Bracket play in the Gulf Coast Invitational held at the Orange Beach Sportsplex.

Linden Jones did the job from the pitcher’s circle allowing only two hits while striking out five in seven innings. Jones’ counterparts Kindra Gregory and Dana Askins combined to allow just two hits to go along with three strikeouts.

The Rams, 15-1, will play 7 th-ranked Columbia College Sunday at 11 a.m. while USAO will play 17 th-ranked Lee University.
