2004 Gulf Coast Invitational Top Stories

ORANGE BEACH, Ala. - The University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma (16-2-1) defeated Faulkner University (5-7) 3-2 Friday afternoon at the Gulf Coast Invitational in Orange Beach, Ala.  

With the win, USAO improves to 1-0 in the tournament and moves on to play tournament co-host and second-ranked University of Mobile at 7 p.m.

Jamie Pendley went the distance for the Drovers giving up two runs on two hits and striking out five batters in earning the victory.

Kristin Kauk went 1-for-3 and drove in two RBI and Stephany Hey went 2-for-3 with an RBI of her own as USAO improve to 16-2-1 on the year.

Faulkner drops to 1-1 in tournament action and will play again tomorrow, Saturday, March 6 against the University of Mobile at 11 a.m.

USAO will play again tonight against Mobile and finish their pool play action on Saturday afternoon against William Woods at 1 p.m.
