
2004 Gulf Coast Invitational Top Stories
| ORANGE BEACH, Ala. - In the final game of the evening,
fifth seeded Oklahoma City University (OKCU) held off two North Georgia
College and State University (NGCSU) rallies and held on for a 4-2 victory
in gold bracket action of the Gulf Coast Invitational played in Orange
Beach, Ala. The fourth seeded Lady Saints loaded the bases in the sixth but were only able to score one run. In the seventh, the Lady Saints got their first batter of the inning on first base but were unable to advance any further. Lelys Gomez went 2-for-4 from the plate with a single and double and scored two runs leading OKCU to the victory. Oklahoma City advances to play number one seed Houston Baptist University, 5-0 winners over William Penn University earlier in the night, tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. NGCSU drops into the loser’s bracket and will face William Penn tomorrow at 11 a.m. -30-
