2004 Gulf Coast Invitational Top Stories

ORANGE BEACH, Ala. - 17th-ranked Lee University (6-7) defeated the Lady Cavaliers of St. Gregory's University (7-8) 3-1 in day two action of the Gulf Coast Invitational held at the Orange Beach Sportsplex in Orange Beach, Alabama. Several players contributed to the Lady Flames' win as Lee University grinded out the crucial win.

Jill Webb (1-for-3), Heidi Hamilton (1-for-3), and Rebekah Ekwall (2-for-3) each scored for the Lady Flames. Jessica Pike gave up seven hits while striking three in the complete game win.

Lacey Owens scored the lone run for St. Gregory's. Falicia Sukeins picks up the loss as she surrendered nine hits and three runs in seven innings of work.

Both teams will now await this afternoon's release of the championship bracket. Both teams are 1-2 and face the possibility of dropping into the Silver Championship bracket.
