ORANGE BEACH, Ala. - Aracely Rodriguez pitched five innings and allowed just two runs on three hits as Spring Hill College soundly defeated Southern Wesleyan University 7-2 Friday night in the Gulf Coast Invitational played in Orange Beach, Ala.

Alicia Perry finished off the game in relief without allowing a single run or hit while picking up two strikeouts in two innings of work.

Offensively for the Badgers, Danielle DeLeon finished the game going 2-for-2 with two walks, a triple, a single and two RBI.

Spring Hill will now face Oklahoma City in their next game tonight at 7 p.m.

Oklahoma City is also 1-0 in the tournament after picking up a 3-2 win over Faulkner University earlier in the day.

After tonight, Spring Hill will play one more pool play game against Culver-Stockton College tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m. before the teams are reseeded and grouped into either the gold or silver bracket.
