2004 Gulf Coast Invitational Top Stories

ORANGE BEACH, Ala. - The 2nd-ranked UM Rams defeated University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in game 13 of the Gulf Coast Invitational held at the Sportsplex in Orange Beach, Alabama. Four runs scored in the bottom of the fifth inning was all the Rams needed as they improve to 13-3 overall while the Drovers drop to 16-3-1.

Stephanie Landrum sparked the Rams charge as she belted a three RBI triple to score Christie Jackson, Molly Walker and Brenda Box. Kirby Baxter, pitching her second game in a row, clocked out with a complete seven innings, giving up only four hits while striking out nine.

The tandem of Kindra Gregory and Dana Askins combined to throw six innings with eight strikeouts while giving up only four hits.

Mobile will complete pool play Saturday morning with an 11 a.m. game against Faulkner University.
