ORANGE BEACH, Ala. - The St. Gregory's University Lady Cavaliers (7-6) defeated the Lady Statesmen of William Penn College (3-1) 5-1 in game six of the Gulf Coast Invitational held in Orange Beach, Alabama. Four runs in the top of the fourth inning was all the Lady Cavaliers needed as they now get set to play Thomas University at 7 p.m. in the final evening session of games.

A two RBI double by Amy Pohl (2-for-3) stirred things up in the top of the fourth as St. Greg's poured in four runs to take a 4-0 lead.

Jamie McCoy (1-for-3 with three runs scored) and Jolene Martin (1-for-3 with an RBI) also helped pace the Lady Cavaliers offensive attack at the plate. Jill Smith did the job at the circle as she pitched a complete game giving up only three hits and one run while striking out five.

William Penn's Jill Carter scored the lone run as she went 1-for-3 on the game.
