Melissa Thomas, M.A. ATC -ATEP Liaison to Athletics/ Assistant Professor
Melissa begins her ninth year at UM and first as ATEP Liaison. Melissa received a B.S. degree from UM in 1997 and a Master of Arts in Education in 2000. She is currently working towards her doctorate at the Unites States Sports Academy. Melissa's responsibilities include work with twelve intercollegiate sports teams as well as serving as an assistant professor for the athletic training education program.



Janele Huelat, ATC- Athletic Trainer

  Janele is a 2005 graduate of the University of Kansas with a degree in Athletic Training. While attending KU, Janele worked as a student trainer with men's basketball, football and track and field. Janele's work experience includes Providence Hospital and Le Flore High school here in Mobile; Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center and Pittsburg High School Athletics in Pittsburg, Kansas; and Win Stadium Physiotherapy working with a premier soccer club the Wollongong Wolves in Australia. Janele holds current BOC certification as well as Alabama licensure and is a member of the NATA.


Courtney Jones
Courtney is a current employee of Encore rehabilitation while also working part-time at UM. Courtney is a 2007 graduate of UM with a degree in Athletic Training. Courtney's primary responsibilities will include working with volleyball and coordinating daily treatments in the main training room.
