Rams Sweep Series With Spring Hill As They Improve To
11-1
MOBILE, Ala. – The UM baseball team (11-1) defeated Spring Hill
College 4-1 and 4-3 Saturday afternoon at home to sweep their cross-town
rivals as they opened up conference play.
Second baseman Bryan Mosely went 3-of-3 at the plate in the first game
while Jesse Luker gave up just three hits while striking out six in a
complete game for the Rams as unranked Mobile cruised to a 4-1 win. Mobile
scored two runs in the bottom of the second inning which would be all
they needed.
In the nightcap, it was a stolen home plate by shortstop Eddie Davila
in the bottom of the sixth that stole the Badgers hopes of picking up
a win against Mobile as the Rams won 4-3. Davila was 3-of-3 at the plate
and scored two runs for the Rams as they now get ready to host NAIA 34th
ranked Faulkner University in a double-header on Tuesday, Feb. 22, at
12 noon.
Simon Badeaux picked up the win as he gave the Rams six strong innings,
surrendering three runs on four hits while striking out six. Chris Copeland
earned a save with a strong no-hit top of the seventh.
