Luker Honored For 1-Hitter
The lefty got only one start on the week, but he made the most of it by dazzling against visiting McKendree University. In the series-opening start, Luker twirled a complete-game 1-hitter and fanned 10 Bearcats while Mobile pulled out the 10-0 victory. Nine of the Rams' 10 runs came over the final two frames, so the game was a pitching duel for the majority and Luker made sure Mobile would not have to come from behind. The victory moved Luker to 5-1 on the season and was his 4th complete game. The senior has 38 strikeouts in 47 innings of work and sports a 2.30 ERA. Luker and the 8th-ranked Rams will take their 17-1 conference record on the road this weekend to battle Loyola University in a 3-game GCAC series. |
