Rams take two from Concorida College
SELMA, Ala. -- The University of Mobile baseball team
won a pair of games from Concordia College last night winning the first
game 21-2 and the nightcap 12-4 in Selma, Alabama. The Rams wrapped
out 21 runs on 14 hits in the opener as they cruised to a five-inning mercy-ruled
victory.
Lance Howard led the team by going 3-for-3 on the night with a base
on balls, a home run, three RBIs and four runs scored.
Shortstop Eddie Davila added two base hits as did left fielder Joel
Jernigan.
Starting pitcher Jason Ragan (1-1) got the win going three innings and
allowing one earned run on two hits while striking out five. Richard
Kelly finished the game throwing the final two innings and allowing one
earned run on two hits.
In game two, Jason Frischhertz got the win going four innings and allowing
just two earned runs on four hits while striking out five.
Meanwhile, Carnell Parker picked up three hits, scored three runs and
drove in another while Lance Howard and Nate Thomas had two hits a piece
to lead the Rams’ attack.
Mobile improves to 30-15 on the season and will next be in action on
Friday, April 15 against Gulf Coast Athletic Conference leader LSU-Shreveport.
Heading into this weekend’s three-game series, the Pilots own a
three game advantage over Mobile in the conference standings.
LSU-Shreveport won two-of-three games played earlier in the season at
Mobile.
