Bracewell Wins Award

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile's Justin Bracewell was named the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference and Region XIII Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 13th.

The GCAC award is Bracewell's third of the season and he is the third Mobile pitcher to win the honor this year. The 6th-ranked Rams went 3-1 on the week, and though the senior got only 1 start, he made the most of it.

The Andalusia native came up big in the GCAC series versus rival Spring Hill, taking the ball in the rubber game. Bracewell did not disappoint, pitching the Rams to a 9-4 victory.

Bracewell cruised early, facing the minimum through 4 innings while Mobile built up a 7-0 lead. The senior went on to throw 8 innings to pick up his 9th victory of the year.

Mobile hosts Tougaloo College this weekend for a 3-game set beginning Friday at 2:00. Bracewell is 9-1 on the season with a 2.55 ERA. He has fanned 52 and walked only 6 on the season.
