Solomon Earns Player of the Week Honors

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile's Daine Solomon was named the GCAC Baseball Player of the Week, as announced by the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference late Wednesday night.

The Junior outfielder from Havre, MT helped pace the Rams' offense as they took 2-of-3 from conference foe Loyola in their only series on the week. During the series, Solomon connected on 5-of-9 trips to the plate for a .556 batting average.

He made the most of those 5 hits, swatting 2 doubles and a home run to total 3 RBIs and slug 1.111 during the home stand. Solomon also used his legs to impress, swiping 2 bases and scoring 2 runs for the 24-28 University of Mobile baseball team.

Solomon and the Rams travel to LSU-Shreveport this weekend to finish out the regular season with a 3-game GCAC series. Game 1 is slated for 6:30 Friday night. After the series with the conference's #2 team, the Rams will return home to co-host the conference tournament at Spring Hill College May 2-5.
