MOBILE, Ala— The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference released the 2008 baseball All-Conference and Gold Glove lists Tuesday evening and the 6th-ranked University of Mobile was well-represented.

Seventeen players make up the team, and the Rams had six players named to the honorary squad. Junior second baseman Jared Baria was tabbed the GCAC MVP after batting .440 on the season and setting a new Rams' record with 88 hits on the season.

Andalusia native Justin Bracewell went 10-1 on the mound for the Rams to earn GCAC Pitcher of the Year honors. Mobile Head Coach Mike Jacobs picked up his 600th career victory earlier this year and was named the GCAC Coach of the Year after guiding the Rams to the Regular Season GCAC Title.

Joining the aforementioned pair on the roster were center fielder Carlos Romero, short stop Stephen Stork, first baseman Kevin Orso and starter Jesse Luker. Romero has belted 10 homers on the season and is only two homers shy of moving to the top of Mobile's career home run list.
