Men Fall to SUNO in Conference Opener
MOBILE,
Ala. – The University of Mobile (10-5, 0-1) dropped their conference
opener 84-75 Thursday night against No. 7 Southern University of
New Orleans (SUNO) at home in Pharr Gymnasium.
Despite
having a two-point lead at halftime, the Rams were outscored 54-43
in the second half.
Lamar
Clark and Roberto Ferreira paced the Knights with 20 points each
in helping SUNO move to 6-1 on the season.
Poor
free-throw shooting plagued the Rams all night as they were able
to only make 9-of-25 from the charity stripe. On the other
hand, the Knights knocked down 29-of-37, including 24-of-30 in
the second half.
Tramaine
Perry and Gabriel Feagin each scored 14 points for the Rams and
Feagin dished out six assists in a losing effort. Chris Bolden
came off the bench and scored 12 points in just 17 minutes of action. >
Mobile
will look to get their first conference win on Saturday, Jan. 10
when the Rams battle William Carey in Hattiesburg, Miss. at 7 p.m.
