UM Men Fall to SUNO in Conference Opener

MOBILE, Ala. – The University of Mobile (10-5, 0-1) dropped their conference opener 84-75 Thursday night against No. 7 Southern University of New Orleans (SUNO) at home in Pharr Gymnasium.

Despite having a two-point lead at halftime, the Rams were outscored 54-43 in the second half.

Lamar Clark and Roberto Ferreira paced the Knights with 20 points each in helping SUNO move to 6-1 on the season.

Poor free-throw shooting plagued the Rams all night as they were able to only make 9-of-25 from the charity stripe.  On the other hand, the Knights knocked down 29-of-37, including 24-of-30 in the second half.

Tramaine Perry and Gabriel Feagin each scored 14 points for the Rams and Feagin dished out six assists in a losing effort.  Chris Bolden came off the bench and scored 12 points in just 17 minutes of action.

Mobile will look to get their first conference win on Saturday, Jan. 10 when the Rams battle William Carey in Hattiesburg, Miss. at 7 p.m.
