UM Men Poised For Showdown With Top-Ranked Conference Opponent

MOBILE, Ala. – The Rams (15-3, 4-0) easily won Thursday night at the Pharr as they defeated Belhaven College (6-6, 1-3) 82-56. Four Rams scored in double figures and forced 32 turnovers as they are now set for a showdown between the two top-ranked teams in the GCAC Saturday night.

Jumping out to a 44-18 lead at the half, the Rams broke a close early stalemate by holding the Blazers scoreless after the 6:48 mark in the first half. Belhaven struggled from the field connecting on only 26.7 percent of their shots from the floor.

Mobile was led by Larry Burgess’s 16 points, Gabe Feagin’s 14 with Gimel Lewis and Tramaine Perry each adding 10.

Belhaven’s James Bryant was the lone Blazer to score in double-figures with 10 points.

The Rams will hit the road for Shreveport, Louisiana as they play the NAIA 11th-ranked Pilots Saturday evening at 7 p.m.
