Rams Outscore Blazers

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team got a dominant performance from Robert Jones and enough offense from his supporting cast to down Belhaven College 92-82 Thursday evening at home.

Jones, who finished with a career-high 40 points, got things started right for the Rams, by pouring in half of those points in the opening frame, as Mobile built a 48-39 lead.

In the second half, the Rams were able to hold on by shooting a blistering 61% from the field, with Walter Fitzgerald adding 12 second-half points, and Jones dropping in 20 more.

Jones finished with a double-double of 40 points and 10 rebounds, Fitzgerald added 21 points and 7 assists, and Marcus Yeager gave the Rams 13 points off the bench.

Mobile (12-6, 7-1) next plays at home Tuesday, January 29th at 7:30 pm against cross-town rival Spring Hill College.
