Rams explode in second half and cruise to 10 point win at SUNO

MOBILE, Ala. -- The University of Mobile (19-3, 8-0) exploded for 51 points in the second half as they erased an early first half deficit and cruised to a 78-68 win over Southern University-New Orleans Thursday night at The Castle in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Trailing 14-8 at the 8:34 mark of the first half, the Rams finally got things going on a layup by Gabe Feagin pulling Mobile to within four points.  The Rams used that basket to finish the half on a 19-9 run and take a two point lead into the lockeroom at halftime, 27-25.

Mobile, which connected on just 1-of-11 three point attempts in the first half, drilled 6-of-11 in the second half from downtown.

Feagin led all Mobile scorers with 19 points and Tramaine Perry added 15 for the Rams who improve to 8-0 in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference action.

Gimel Lewis scored nine points and grabbed nine rebounds but came up even bigger on the defensive end blocking five shots and making two steals in 27 minutes of action.

Mobile will return to action on Monday, Jan. 31 against cross-town rival Spring Hill College.  Tip off is set for 7:30 p.m.
