Mobile
drops two on the road vs. LSU-Shreveport
Shreveport, La. -- The
University of Mobile dropped two games on the road Saturday night in
Shreveport as both the women's and men's team fell to the LSU-Shreveport
Pilots.
Tied 31-31 at halftime,
the UM men's team (18-8, 8-4) ran out to a 12-0 run to start the second
half. However, excellent free-throw shooting (21-25) in the second
half by the Pilots kept them in the game and Justin Collins' three
pointer with 1:29 put the Pilots ahead for good as they held on for
an 82-74 win.
In women's action, Dyamond
Hogg connected on 2 free throw attempts with 9 seconds to play putting
LSU-Shreveport ahead 55-51.
However, Jessica Barber
sunk a long three from behind the arc, cutting the lead to 55-54. On
the pursuing in bound play, the Lady Pilots managed to inbound the
ball and avoid being fouled as they were able to run out the clock
and preserve just their 3rd conference win of the season.
