Rams Halt Skid With Road Win
NEW ORLEANS, La-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team needed a win in a bad way entering Monday's contest at Gulf Coast Athletic Conference foe SUNO.
Entering the game, injuries had sent the Rams into a spiral, dropping three straight conference games and losing seven of their last eight GCAC contests. But, the Rams responded on Monday night with a 73-65 over the Knights of SUNO.
The game started out poorly for the Rams, as the Knights came out running and took a 36-28 lead into the break after holding Mobile to 37% from the floor, while shooting 50% themselves.
In the second half, Mobile's top-10 defense responded, going to a full-court press. The Rams held the Knights to a porous 8-for-28 from the field in the final half, while the Mobile offense shot 50% to pull out the victory.
Lelund LeDay and Donte Walker led the way with 18 points, while Walker added 9 rebounds. Brock Dockery added 13 points off the bench for Mobile.
The Rams (13-10, 5-7) return to action Thursday at Dillard University in a 7:30 pm contest. |
