UM Splits Pair of games with Loyola University-New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS, La. -- The University of Mobile split a pair of games with Loyola University Thursday night as the men picked up their ninth conference win of the season with a 83-58 romping of the Wolfpack while the UM women dropped their third consecutive conference game with a 67-65 setback to Loyola.

Coming off a road loss to LSU-Shreveport in which they surrendered a 12-point second half lead, the Rams exploded out of the gate jumping out to a 35-26 halftime advantage.  However, this time the Rams secured the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference victory by outscoring the Wolfpack 48-32 in the second half, shooting 67 percent from the floor in pulling away from Loyola.

Gimel Lewis and Tramaine Perry teamed up to score 37 points and Jacob Frasier came off the bench to score 11 points as the Rams improve to 19-8 and 9-4 in conference play.

In the first game of the night, the UM women dropped their third consecutive game to Loyola falling 67-65.

Four Wolfpack players scored in double figures and Dani Holland recorded a double-double scoring 19 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.

Mobile was led by Crystal Coston who finished with 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting and pulled down 13 rebounds in a losing effort.

Both teams will return to the court on Saturday, Feb. 14 when Mobile host GCAC rival William Carey College.
