Perry breaks school's all-time scoring record in victory over Belhaven College

JACKSON, Miss. -- Tramaine Perry broke the school's all-time scoring record by scoring 23 points in leading the University of Mobile to an 89-75 victory Thursday night over Belhaven College in Jackson, Mississippi.

Perry, who entered the game needing just 19 points to break Rene Antee's career record of 2,040 points, scored 23 on 8-of-13 shooting from the floor including a season-high six three pointers on 11 attempts.

Gimel Lewis also scored in double digits collecting 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the floor while grabbing seven rebounds.

The Rams, who led by six points 42-36 at the break, fell behind momentarily in the second half at 54-53 before pulling away to their 14 conference victory of the season.

The Rams (25-4, 14-1) shot 56.6 percent as a team from the field and nailed seven three pointers in the first half alone.

James Bryant scored 18 points and Tremechie Evans scored 16 for the Blazers who fall to 12-12, 6-9 on the year.

Mobile will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 19 when the Rams play host to Xavier University in Pharr Gymnasium.  Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
