National Tourney Road Set For Rams
Mobile is making its 9th trip to the NAIA National Championship in 21 years of competition. The first round of the bracket will take place Wednesday March 19th and Thursday, March 20th, with the Championship being played on March 25th. Other teams in Mobile's bracket are Emmanuel (Ga.), undefeated Georgetown (Ky.), Southern Nazarene (Okla.), Point Loma Nazarene (Calif.), Carroll (Mont.) and Robert Morris (Ill.). Georgetown is the top seed, Trevecca is seeded #16, Southern Nazarene is #9 and Robert Morris is #8. In the school's history, the Rams are 0-1 all-time against Trevecca Nazarene. That meeting came in the regular season of 2004-05 and Trevecca won 75-66. The winner of Mobile/Trevecca will face the Georgetown/Emmanuel winner Friday at 4:30 pm. The Rams are 2-0 all-time versus Emmanuel and have not faced Georgetown. Mobile is 7-8 all-time in 8 trips to the NAIA National Championship. Mobile advanced to the Championship game in 1999 and made it to the Final 4 in 2004. Every other year was one and done. The Rams are 3-3 in three trips since 2004 (04, 05, 06). KANSAS CITY, MO-- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics released the bracket for the 71st Annual Buffalo Funds-NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball National Championship and the University of Mobile will play Trevecca Nazarene, Wednesday March 19th at 6:15 pm.
