Jones Named All American
MOBILE, Ala-- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics released its NAIA Men's Basketball All-American teams, and the Rams' Robert Jones was tabbed as a 3rd-team selection.
Jones averaged 19.2 points and 8.2 rebounds as the University of Mobile made its 9th trip to the NAIA National Tournament, before falling to Trevecca Nazarene.
The Junior from Fort Pierce led Mobile in points, rebounds, minutes played, field goal percentage, and free throws made. He was second on the team in steals and blocks.
Jones ranked at the top of the NAIA in several categories. His .582 field goal percentage ranked 8th, his 19.2 points per game placed him at 14th and his 8.2 rebounds per contest ranked 22nd in the nation.
On the season, Jones scored over 20 points 15 times and scored over 30 points 4 times. He set a career high against Belhaven when he poured in 40 points. He also set single-game high's with 17 rebounds, 9 steals and 12 free throws made this season. |
