Rams sign Clinton Thomas from Choctaw County High School

MOBILE, Ala. -- Clinton Thomas has signed to play basketball next season for head coach Joe Niland and the University of Mobile basketball team the school announced on Monday.

Thomas, a 6-3 combo guard from Choctaw County High School in Butler, Alabama, was a two-time All-Area selection and a member of the All-Mobile Register Second Team in 2005.

“He’s an outstanding shooter with great athleticism,” said UM head coach Joe Niland.

Thomas helped lead his high school team to a 15-6 record last season averaging 19 points, eight rebounds, four steals and three blocks a game.

“If he can gain the strength and adjust to the college game, he can be a great player here at the University of Mobile,” Niland added.

The Rams, which went 30-6 and made a trip to the NAIA Tournament last season, graduated six seniors this past season.
