Rams sign University of New Orleans transfer Todd Bostic
MOBILE,
Ala. -- Todd Bostic has signed to play basketball next season for head
coach Joe Niland and the University of Mobile basketball
team the school announced on Thursday.
Bostic, a 6-1 combo guard who
can play either the point guard or shooting guard position, will transfer
to the University of Mobile
from the
University of New Orleans for his senior season. Bostic played in all
30 of the Privateers’ games last season averaging 20 minutes
a game.
Last season, Bostic scored a season high 14 points on
Dec. 22, 2004 against IUPUI and collected 12 points in 30 minutes of
action
in a
71-66 win at New Mexico State on February 10 of this year.
“Todd is an experienced player who played in all
30 games for UNO last season,” UM head coach Joe Niland said
of Bostic. “He is
very strong with the ball and his experience will be very valuable.”
Before
coming to UNO, Bostic averaged 14 points and 8.5 assists per game
as a sophomore for head coach Jerry Carrillo at Cochise Community
College in Arizona where Bostic was a Second-Team All-ACCAC and Region
I selection. As a freshman, Bostic averaged 12 points and 6.9 assists
per contest before sustaining a broken foot just 21 games into the
season.
Bostic is a native of El Paso, Texas, where he attended
Franklin High School and was an all-district selection in 2001.
The
Rams, which went 30-6 and made a trip to the NAIA Tournament last
season, graduated six seniors this past season.
