Rams sign University of New Orleans transfer Todd Bostic

MOBILE, Ala. -- Todd Bostic has signed to play basketball next season for head coach Joe Niland and the University of Mobile basketball team the school announced on Thursday.

Bostic, a 6-1 combo guard who can play either the point guard or shooting guard position, will transfer to the University of Mobile from the University of New Orleans for his senior season. Bostic played in all 30 of the Privateers’ games last season averaging 20 minutes a game.

Last season, Bostic scored a season high 14 points on Dec. 22, 2004 against IUPUI and collected 12 points in 30 minutes of action in a 71-66 win at New Mexico State on February 10 of this year.

“Todd is an experienced player who played in all 30 games for UNO last season,” UM head coach Joe Niland said of Bostic. “He is very strong with the ball and his experience will be very valuable.”

Before coming to UNO, Bostic averaged 14 points and 8.5 assists per game as a sophomore for head coach Jerry Carrillo at Cochise Community College in Arizona where Bostic was a Second-Team All-ACCAC and Region I selection. As a freshman, Bostic averaged 12 points and 6.9 assists per contest before sustaining a broken foot just 21 games into the season.

Bostic is a native of El Paso, Texas, where he attended Franklin High School and was an all-district selection in 2001.

The Rams, which went 30-6 and made a trip to the NAIA Tournament last season, graduated six seniors this past season.
