Foxworth signs letter of intent to play
basketball for the University of Mobile
MOBILE, Ala.-- Steven Foxworth, a 6'-7"
forward from Pine Ridge High School in Deltona, Fla., signed a
letter of intent last week to play basketball next season for
the University of Mobile.
Originally a native of Louisiana, Foxworth
played his first two season at Denham Springs High School in
Denham Springs, La., before moving to Florida for his final two
years of high school, where he served as co-captain his senior
season.
Foxworth averaged 10 points and four
blocked shots a game his senior season. He was voted Pine
Ridge "Defensive Player of the Year" and was named to the
First-Team Volusia County All-Star Team.
A two-star athlete, Foxworth also competed
in Track & Field winning first place in the District High Jump.
An active member of his youth group at
Deltona Lakes Baptist Church, Foxworth plays bass guitar in one
of two morning worship praise bands and has volunteered as a
counselor at a children's camp the past three years.
While at First Baptist Church in Baker,
La., Foxworth was able to serve on several missions trips to
Ohio, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Louisiana and two trips to
Mexico.
Foxworth also was a member of the National
FFA, FCA and HOSA while maintaing a 3.15 GPA.
Steven is the son of Reverend Allen and
Lorna Foxworth. He has one sister, Jessica, who is a
junior at Louisiana College in Pineville, La.
Foxworth joins an already talented
recruiting class that includes other early signees Justin
Chappell of Baton Rouge, La., and Steve Pellan of Paris, France.
The Rams finished last season with a 29-10
overall record and advanced to the Final Four of the NAIA
National Tournament for only the second time in school history.
