Lewis and Perry named to the Gulf Coast Athletic Pre-season
All-Conference Team
HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference released
the 2004-05 men’s pre-season All-Conference Team today conference
Sports Information Director Chuck Knight announced.
Senior center Gimel Lewis and senior forward Tramaine Perry of the
University of Mobile were among the ten selections.
Lewis, who owns the University of Mobile career record for blocked
shots with 171, shattered his own single season record of 53 blocked
shots from his freshman year, with 90 blocks in 2003-04.
Perry, a native of Hammond, La., averaged 15.1 points per game last
season while grabbing 6.4 rebounds a contest in helping lead the Rams
to a regular season co-championship and an outright Gulf Coast Athletic
Conference Tournament championship.
Along with Mobile, Xavier University, Southern University New Orleans
and LSU-Shreveport also had two players selected to the team.
Mobile, which begins the 2004-05 season ranked No. 4 in the NAIA Top
25 Pre-season poll, tips off its season on Tuesday, Nov. 2 at home
against Trinity Baptist College at 7:30 p.m.
