Men’s Basketball Opens
Season with a 102-70 Win
MOBILE, Ala. – The University of Mobile men’s
basketball team (1-0) opened the 2003-04 season with a 102-70 drubbing of
Oakwood College Tuesday night at Pharr Gymnasium.
The Rams never trailed in the contest as they built
up a 24 point halftime lead and cruised in from there.
Five Rams scored in double figures as the team shot
an outstanding 58.3 percent from the floor. Former GCAC “Freshman of the
Year” Tramaine Perry, coming back from a knee injury that kept him out of
last season, scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds in his return.
Gimel Lewis also recorded 15 points for Mobile, going 7-of-10 from the
free-throw line. Junior Gabe Feagin recorded 14 points while dishing out
three assists and Seluynn Palmer and Albert Sullivan each added 12.
Mobile moves to 1-0 on the season and will face
Clearwater Christian on Friday, Nov. 7 at 7:30 p.m. in game two of the
Mobile Classic.
