Rams roll to 87 point win over Wesley College
MOBILE, Ala. -- The University of Mobile men's basketball
team improved to 2-0 on the season after Friday night's 111-24 win
over Wesley College at home in Pharr Gymnasium.
The game, which was delayed by the previous two women's
basketball tournament games, didnt tip off until 9:30 p.m.
However, the Rams came out on fire starting the game
on a 14-0 run in the first three minutes of the game before head coach
Joe Niland pulled out his starters and began to empty his bench.
The Rams pushed their lead to 25-0 on a three-point shot
by Ravi Amunagama before Wesley College ended the scoring drought with
a three pointer of their own at the 14:02 mark of the first half.
Twelve Rams saw action in the game and all 12 players
scored as the Rams cruised to the easy 87 point victory.
Six Rams scored in double figures for the second consecutive
game and Mobile, AL native Joe Ryan led all scorers with 17 points.
Freshman Justin Chappell scored eight points, while grabbing
seven rebounds and dishing out nine assists, nearly pulling off the
triple-double.
In two games this season, the Rams have outscored their
opponents 210-68.
The Rams return to action next weekend when they host
the University of Mobile Classic. Mobile will play Texas College
on Friday, Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m. and Berry College on Saturday, Nov.
13 at 7 p.m. -30- |
