Six Rams score in
double figures as Mobile defeats Texas College 96-81
MOBILE, Ala. – The University of Mobile men’s
basketball team (3-1) led wire-to-wire in a 96-81 win over Texas College
(2-1) in the Wells-Fargo Classic. The Rams combined a high pressure
full-court defense that forced 32 turnovers with 63 percent shooting
from the floor in the first half to jump out to an early lead and never
look back.
Six Rams scored in double-figures in helping lead Mobile to the win
over the Steers. Tramaine Perry led with 15 points as Gabe Feagin (13
points and six assists), Gimel Lewis (12), Jacob Loucks (11), Chris
Bolden (11 points and seven steals) and Randy Jordan (11) rounded out
the double-digit mayhem.
The Steers were led by Jamar Adams’ 23 points and Eric Scott’s
20.
The Rams will return to action Saturday night at 7 p.m. against a
tough Berry College team that defeated Spring Hill College in the earlier
game, 80-70.
In the first game of the Well-Fargo Classic Spring Hill College (1-1)
took a 38-36 lead into the half but were outscored 44-32 in the second
half and were out-rebounded 35-23.
The Badgers (4-1) got 15 points from Josh Mathews and 14 points from
Krisner Green. The Vikings of Berry College were led by Ben Elliott’s
20 points and Kirk Feinswog’s 21.
