Men’s Basketball to Host Faulkner University

MOBILE, Ala. -- The University of Mobile men’s basketball team, off to a 4-0 start this season, will look for their fifth consecutive win Tuesday, Nov. 18 when the team hosts No. 12 Faulkner University at 7:30 p.m.

“This is a typical Faulkner team,” said UM head coach Joe Niland.  “They are very disciplined and play very hard.”

The Rams are coming off an 82-68 road victory over No. 21 Auburn University Montgomery as they prepare to play their second consecutive top 25 opponent.

“Even though we just beat AUM on the road, this game will be our biggest challenge to date and we will know after this game where we are at as a team,” said Niland.

Mobile is averaging over 92 points a game this season while winning their four games by an average margin of 28 points per contest.  Both teams play a similar up-and-down the court style of offense and points shouldn’t be hard to come by.

“This game will be a battle of conditioning and effort,” said Niland on the matchup.  “We are very similar and execution will be the key to the game.”

Faulkner is 2-0 on the season, including a 70-52 win over Spring Hill last Saturday.
