to host Pensacola Christian College tonight at 7:30 p.m.
MOBILE, Ala. -- The University of Mobile
(5-1) will play host to Pensacola Christian College (0-4) in non-conference
action tonight at home in Pharr Gymnasium at 7:30 p.m.
The Rams, fresh off an 84-71 win on Tuesday
night over Faulkner University, will look for their third straight
win tonight after suffering their only loss of the season last week
at Faulkner.
Through five games, Tramaine Perry leads the Rams in scoring at 14.5
points per game and Larry Burgess (10.3 ppg) and Gimel Lewis (10.2
ppg) also average double figures in the scoring column.
As a team, the Rams have hit 96-of-137 free throws on the seaon for
70.1 percent including a 30-of-40 performance from the line in Tuesday
night's victory over Faulkner University.
The Rams, who exacted some revenge on the Eagles
for an earlier season loss in Montgomery, led from start to finish
and built a 15 point second half lead with just over 12 minutes to
play before Faulkner rallied to cut the lead down to six points at
71-65 on a Kellen Cole three pointer with just 1:25 to play.
However, the Rams, who hit 30-of-40 free throws
in the game, knocked down 13 of their final 14 free throws to pull
away.
Pensacola Christian, 0-4, is led by Paul Baird
who is averaging 16.5 points per game and Brad Humble at 15.5 points
per game and 8.8 rebound a contest.
After tongiht's game with Pensacola Christian
College, the Rams will hit the road and travel to Houston, Texas
to face NCAA Division I opponent Rice University. Rice is the
pre-season favorite to win the Western Atheltic Conference.
