Basketball Drops Game to Faulkner 72-68
MOBILE,
Ala. -- The University of Mobile men's basketball team dropped their
first game of the season in a heartbreaking loss, Tuesday night at
home to Faulkner University, 72-68.
Despite,
leading by seven points at halftime and by as many as 10 early in
the second half, the Rams were outscored 18-8 over the final seven
minutes and 36 seconds to fall to 4-1 on the season.
The
Rams were led by Tramaine Perry's 17 points and Gimel Lewis, who
recorded a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds.
While
the Rams shot 57.7% from the floor in the first half, Mobile was
limited to just 30 points in the second half on 10-of-29 shooting
for just 34.5%.
Newcomer,
Jacob Frasier's three-pointer with 1:47 remaining in the contest
gave Mobile a 68-65 lead but Faulkner scored the final seven points
of the game to steal a victory from Mobile on the road.
Faulkner
improves to 3-0 on the season. The Eagles were led by Terrell
McNeil who finished with 16 points, including two big free-throws
late in the game that put Faulkner ahead by two points.
Mobile
will next be in action on Friday, Nov. 28 at 5:30 p.m. against Tennessee
Temple University in the first game of the Spring Hill Classic.
