Rams fall in first game of Spring Hill Classic

MOBILE, Ala. -- Trevecca Nazarene University (9-0) overcame a three point halftime deficit and rallied for their ninth consecutive win to open the season on Friday afternoon with a 75-66 victory over the University of Mobile in game one of the Spring Hill Classic played on the Spring Hill College campus.

Senior center Gimel Lewis led Mobile with a 19 point, 12 rebound effort as the Rams (6-3) lost for just the third time this season.

Trevecca came out strong as freshman Josh Helton scored Trevecca’s first nine points of the game opening up a 9-5 lead early. Trevecca held the lead for most of the first half until Mobile took over in the closing moments with the Rams taking a 35-32 lead into the locker room at the break.
However, in the second half, Trevecca roared out of the gate going on an 18-3 run to open a 50-38 lead five minutes into the second half. The Trojans held onto the lead, as it never dropped below a five point advantage again, despite four Trojans fouling out of the game.

Senior Gabe Feagin, fresh off his season-high 24 point performance last weekend against NCAA Division I opponent Rice University, scored 17 points on 6-of-16 shooting from the field and Chris Bolden added 15 points for the Rams in a losing effort.

Mobile shot just 33 percent (23-68) from the floor as a team and only 18 percent (4-21) from behind the arc while the Trojans shot a sizzling 60 percent (26-43) from both the floor and behind the three-point line (9-15).

The Rams will return to the floor again tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 27 against Dakota Wesleyan at 3 p.m. as the Spring Hill Classic continues.
