Rams Roll To 116-48 Victory

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team entered Friday night's home game with Trinity Baptist, having not played in 10 days, but the Rams were not rusty. Instead, they rolled to a 116-48 victory to move to 4-3 on the season.

The Rams set the tempo right away by scoring 21 points before the visitors could get on the scoreboard. Then Mobile put the game away by pulling ahead 45-8 at the 7:00 mark on a bucket from Robert Jones.

Mobile dominated in every facet of the game. They out-shot the visitors 72% to 35% from the floor, and the few times the Rams missed, they were able to grab a rebound and put it back in, with a 47-to-9 edge in the rebounding department.

The bulk of that work came from just 6 players, all who scored in double-figures. Jones continued his impressive play this season with a 35 point effort, while Derrell Moreaux produced a double-double with 21 points and 10 assists. Walter Fitzgerald added 20 points, Steve Pellan added 18, and Tim Malone and Donte Walker chipped in 10 points apiece.

Mobile next plays Friday, December 14th at Freed-Hardeman at 8:00 pm. The game is in Henderson, TN.
