Rams Finish 2nd In BMW Collegiate

TIGERVILLE, SC-- The University of Mobile men's golf team made a charge on the final day of the BMW Collegiate and the Rams finished the event in second place, 11 strokes behind Anderson University, which shot a second-round 301 to win.

Southeastern University held a one-stroke lead after the opening round yesterday, but shot a second-round 327 to fall to ninth place.

Alejandro Salcedo and Cameron Smith helped lead the charge, finishing in a tie for 9th place, each carding a 152. J.C. Todd shot a 71 in the final round, which was the second best score of the tournament. Todd finished in 13th with a 153. Nathan Rau carded a 161 and Jacob Morgan finished with a 167 to round out Mobile's performers.

TIGERVILLE, SC—Southeastern University shot a team score of 304 to hold a one-stroke lead after the opening round of the BMW Collegiate held at the par-72 Cherokee Valley Golf Club. Second round action will begin Tuesday morning.

Anderson University is a close second at 305, while Limestone College (312), Cape Fear Community College (314), and the University of Mobile (314) round out the top five.

Alejandro Salcedo is 7th among individuals after carding an opening-round 74 and Cameron Smith is tied for 10th with a 76.

Cape Fear’s Steven Brame shot the low round of the day with a 69 to lead the pack. Matt Parzaile (Southeastern) is one-stroke back at 70. Kurt Owings (Anderson) currently occupies the third slot, while there is a three-way tie at fourth between Adam Sheriff (Anderson), Brad Williams (Limestone), and Nate Mosby (Southeastern), who all shot 73.

Host North Greenville University has two players in the top 20. Brandon Coggins is in a tie for tenth place with an opening-round 76, while Harrison Martin’s 77 puts him in a tie for 14th. The Crusaders shot 316 as a team and are currently tied for seventh place.
