Men’s soccer preps for exhibition
match with UAB
MOBILE, Ala. -- The University of Mobile
men’s soccer team is preparing for their first match of the year,
an exhbition game on Wednesday night, againt the University of Alabama-Birmingaham
at 7 p.m. in Birmingham.
The Rams, coming off a run that ended
at the NAIA National Quarterfinals a year ago, were originally scheduled
to play West Florida University in an exhibition game at home on Monday
night but the game was cancelled due to inclement weather.
UAB, who has also yet to start their
season, lost their only other exhbition match to Clemson University,
2-0.
The Blazers are currently ranked #29
in the NCAA Division I pre-season Top 30 poll. The Rams are ranked
#14 in the NAIA Division I pre-season Top 25 poll.
Mobile's regular season begins on Saturday,
Sept. 4 when the Rams travel to Lookout Mountain, Ga., for a match
against Covenant College.
