Rams Find The Back of the Net Four Times in Win

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's soccer team had scored only twice through the first 3 games of the season, but Ruben Diaz led an attack that had that number tripled by the end of the night, as the Rams took down visiting Texas College 4-0 at the Jungle.

Both teams played to a 0-0 tie at halftime, but Mobile showed a sign of things to come by out-shooting the Steers 8-1 in the first period of play.

Then, about 9 minutes into play in the second half, Diaz took a feed from Onesimus Ikongo and headed the ball home off the hands of the leaping Steers' goalkeeper at the 36:22 mark. Just 37 seconds later, Diaz repeated the feat, this time heading home a feed from Geert Slits to put Mobile ahead 2-0.

Things cooled down for a bit after the back-to-back goals, but Mobile, which out-shot the Steers 26-7 in the game, surpassed their season total when Diaz took the ball himself and knocked it past Texas College's backup goalkeeper. David Suchodolski finished the scoring for the Rams when he hammered home a pass from Gustavo Souza.

Mobile moves to 1-2-1 on the season, while the Steers fall to 1-1-2. Mobile will keep the momentum as they turn around and host Bryan College Saturday, September 8th for a 7:00 pm start time.
