AUM defeats Thomas University, 5-0 in day two action of the O'Charley's Futbol Festival

MOBILE, Ala. -- Auburn University-Montgomery got goals from five different player en route to their 5-0 win over Thomas University in day two action of the O'Charley's Futbol Festival played on the University of Mobile campus in Mobile, Alabama.

AUM opened the scoring in the 32nd minute when substitute Magnus Olafsson stole the ball from a Nighthawk defender and then scored with a groundshot past the Thomas goalkeeper.  The goal, which was all the Senators would need, turned out to the game-winner as the Senators held Thomas to just three shots on goal in recording a shutout.

In the second half, the Senators poured it on with goals coming from Patrick Thornqvist, Masego Ntshingane, Elvar Gudjonsson and Jon Olaffson.

AUM finished the tournament with a 1-1 record.  The Senators lost last night to no. 1 Rio Grande, 2-0.

Thomas leaves Mobile having dropped both of their matches.  Last night, the Nighthawks fell to host school Mobile, 1-0.  The Nighthawks were outscored in the tournament 6-0.
