Mobile, AL - The University of Mobile
men’s soccer team captured yet another tournament win as they
came out on top of the Roberts Wesleyan College tournament by
tying Azusa Pacific University 1-1 and defeating Bethel College
2-0.
On Friday the 13th of September the
Rams drew a 1-1 result with Azusa Pacific University, a team that was
ranked 10th in the NAIA pre-season poll. In that game Teba
McKnight scored for Mobile in the 23rd minute. Azusa’s Lan
Leibrandt snuck a goal in before the half getting one to go in the 43rd
minute.
In Saturday’s match-up with pre-season 8th-ranked
Bethel College, the Rams dominated early with Stephen Shirley scoring in
the 14th minute and James Gledhill in the 27th
minute.
The Rams who are now 6-0-1 on the season will
travel to Jackson, MS where they will take on Belhaven College. They will
then play cross-town rival Spring Hill College Saturday the 21st
of September at “the Hill” at 4:30 p.m.
