Mobile wins 4-3 in double overtime

SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. -- Trailing by a score of 3-1 with just six minutes remaining, the University of Mobile (3-1-1) rallied and scored two goals to tie the game in regulation and then won it in double overtime, 4-3, in game one of the John Brown University Tournament played Friday afternoon in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.

Down by two goals with just six minutes left, freshman substitute Alex Sesto scored an unassisted goal in the 84th minute cutting the lead Oklahoma City lead in half, at 3-2.

Just two minutes later, senior UCON transfer, Andreas Rota got his name into the scoring column, tying the game at 3-3.

In overtime, Mobile took over. Mobile continuously pressured in the extra period taking nine corner kicks to the Stars’ one.

Finally, in the 106th minute of action, Mobile won the game when sophomore Mark Rich headed in a free kick that had deflected off the post. The goal was his first of the season.

Mobile improves to 3-1-1 on the season and will next be in action tomorrow afternoon against host school, John Brown University.
