Adrian Rochofski Honored

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Men's Soccer national weekly awards were announced for the week of Sept. 17-23 and Jakob Rittig of Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) was selected as the National Offensive Player of the Week while Adrian Rochofski of Mobile (Ala.) was named the NAIA National Defensive Player of the Week.

Rochofski, a 5-10 senior goalkeeper from Langen, Germany played a big part in snapping Auburn-Montgomery's winning streak. Against No. 7-ranked AUM, Rochofski posted nine saves in 90 minutes. He turned away a Senators' penalty kick in the first half to preserve the shutout. In the second game of the week, he shut out Cumberlands (Ky.) 1-0 with six saves. He totaled 15 saves in 180 minutes in two matches.

 

Rochofski Earns Other Honors:

MOBILE, Ala-- The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference and Region XIII announced Wednesday that University of Mobile men's soccer play Adrian Rochofski was named the GCAC and Region XIII Defensive Player of the Week.

Rochofski, who has recorded 5-straight shutouts in goal for the Rams, came up big last week with a pair of shutout victories over talented teams. The first victory was a 2-0 win over #7 Auburn-Montgomery, that was made possible by a big night from the Germany native.

The Senators were awarded a penalty kick in the first half of a 0-0 game and Rochofski came up big, stopping the shot, and going on to record 8 more saves in the game.

The final game of the week was a 1-0 victory over Cumberlands (KY), which was receiving votes in the last NAIA Top-25 poll. Mobile's senior stopped 6 shots in the contest, to finish with 15 over the 2 games.

Mobile is currently 5-2-1 and ranked 2nd in Region XIII. The Rams next play Friday, September 28th at home versus Webber International at 7:00 pm.
