Rams Trounce Warriors 5-0
MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's soccer team cruised to its 7th consecutive victory, by defeating visiting John Brown University 5-0 Saturday evening.
Both defenses controlled the game for the first 18:44, as the teams battled to a 0-0 score. Then, the now 7-2-1 Rams struck for a trio of goals in a span of 6 minutes, including 2 in a span of 25 seconds.
At the 26:16 mark, the Rams got a penalty kick thanks to a hand ball, and Matt Watts knocked the ball into the back of the net for the 1-0 lead. Seconds later, Mobile got possession of the ball across midfield, and Caetano Lima found David Sucholdolski for a 2-0 lead.
Several minutes later, at the 20:36 mark, Lima got to do the scoring, taking a pass from Geert Slits at the top of the box and going top-shelf for a comfortable 3-0 margin.
The teams went into half time with that same score, and Mobile decided to use a couple of substitutes to finish out the scoring. At the 27:01 and 8:39 marks, Clay Normand fed Morgan Copes for Copes' first 2 goals of the season and a 5-0 victory.
Mobile is done with its home slate and next plays at Spring Hill College, October 3rd at 4:00 pm.
