Rams fall 1-0 in overtime

MOBILE, Ala. -- No. 21 Mid-Continent College defeated the University of Mobile Rams 1-0 Saturday night in overtime in a match played at the UM Soccer Field.

Less than a minute into overtime, Mid-Continent's Willans Ribera volleyed in a corner kick with the sudden death golden goal.  Mid-Continent had just two shots on goal in the game, both coming in overtime, but made the most of their two shots.

With three minutes remaining in regulation, the Rams had perhaps their best scoring opportunity of the night but KK Lima's shot from the center of the 18-yard box hit the right post and bounced away.

Mobile (1-3-2) outshot Mid-Continent 17-10 in the game and had four shots on goal to just two for Mid-Continent.

This was Mobile's fourth overtime game of the season as their record fell to 1-1-2 in overtime games this season.

Mobile will next be in action on Friday, Oct. 7 at home against Notre Dame College at 5:30 p.m.
