Asbjornson delivers
in Rams 4-0 shutout of Cedarville University
CEDARVILLE, Ohio -- Freshman
forward Bjorn Asbjornson came off the bench and scored two goals
and added an assist as the University of Mobile (8-4-1) rolled to
a 4-0 shutout over Cedarville University (9-7-1) Saturday night in
Cedarville, Ohio.
Dean Logan got things going
early on for the Rams scoring the game-winner in the 30th minute
of action. Logan, who has played in just four games this season
because of injury, took three shots in the game, two on goal.
Leading 1-0 at halftime,
Asbjornson scored less than three minutes into the second half increasing
the lead to 2-0.
Twelve minutes later, Asbjornson
netted his second goal of the game on an assist from Mathias Kruskemper
giving Mobile a 3-0 lead.
Finally, Junior Pamponette
scored the fourth and final goal of the game in the 70th minute on
an assist from Asbjornson.
The Rams outshot the Yellow Jackets 17-10 in the game
and 8-7 in shots on goal.
James Beggs recorded his third shutout of the season
and made seven saves as the Rams improved to 8-4-1 on the season.
Mobile will next be in action on Monday, Oct. 18 when
the Rams meet Brescia University in Lexington, Kentucky. -30-
