JACKSON, Miss—The University of Mobile Rams got a first-half goal from Ruben Diaz and held on to take down the Belhaven College Blazers 1-0 in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference action Wednesday evening.

With rainy conditions and physical play, the game began and ended as a defensive battle, but Diaz provided all the offense #8 Mobile needed to pick up its 12th win in a row.

Thirty-seven minutes into the opening period, Diaz took a feed from Jack St. Hilaire in the middle of the field, took a touch, and unleashed a rocket from 25 yards out into the left corner of the goal for the decisive tally.

Mobile’s defense did the rest, as the Blazers were only able to muster 2 shots on goal in the game, and Adrian Rochofski was up to the challenge on both of them, as the Rams pitched their 8th shutout of the season.

The Rams move to 12-2-1 on the season and next play at Berry College Saturday, October 20th at 4:00 pm. The battle will go a long way in deciding who reigns supreme in Region XIII.
