Rams Dominate All-Conference Team
MOBILE, Ala-- The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference released the 2007-08 men's soccer All-Conference Team, and the University of Mobile was well-represented.
The 13-2-1 Rams placed 8 players on the 16-player honorary team, and nabbed both yearly awards.
Head Coach Peter Fuller was named the GCAC Coach of the Year and Ruben Diaz was named GCAC Player of the Year after scoring 11 goals for the 8th-ranked Rams.
Players named to the team for Mobile were, Adrian Rochofski (GK), Matt Watts (DEF), Thomas Wharf (DEF), Caetano Lima (MF), Geert Slits (MF), Ruben Diaz (FWD), Onesimus Ikongo (FWD) and Jack St. Hilaire (FWD).
At goalkeeper, Rochofski has collected 7 shutouts and allowed only 5 goals on the season, while also picking up an NAIA National Defensive Player of the Week award. Matt Watts has collected 6 goals and 4 assists for the Rams, while Thomas Wharf has helped anchor the defense, which has pitched 8 shutouts on the year.
Lima has collected 3 goals and 2 assists from his midfielder spot, while Slits has 5 goals and 2 assists of his own. Ikongo has picked up 4 goals and 4 assists at forward and Jack St. Hilaire has tallied 6 points for Mobile.
